Chandler’s Arizona College Prep-Erie earned a Top 100 on Newsweek’s 2013 America’s Best High Schools list.

In the story, published Tuesday online, Arizona College Prep-Erie is listed at No. 60 in the country. The Chandler Unified School District campus, formerly known as Hamilton Prep, opened this year on a new site with a new name.

Two Arizona charter schools also earned top spots: BASIS Scottsdale is ranked No. 3 and BASIS Tucson North is ranked No. 7. BASIS also has a campus in Chandler and will open in Mesa and Ahwatukee Foothills in the fall.

Statistics from each school’s graduating class are used to determine the top schools in the country, based on graduation rate, AP testing, SAT and ACT scores, and the number of college-bound students.

All three of Arizona's top schools offer open enrollment.
