Mesa schools earn top points in regional Academic Decathlon competitions

Mesa’s Red Mountain and Mountain View high schools were the top two point-getters during regional Academic Decathlon competitions this past weekend.

Several East Valley schools earned spots in the forty-team state final March 8-9.

Representing Mesa will be Red Mountain, Mountain View, Mesa Skyline, Westwood and Dobson highs. Representing Chandler will be Seton Catholic Preparatory and Hamilton High. Representing Tempe will be Mountain Point and Marcos de Niza highs. Representing Gilbert will be Gilbert Classical Academy and Campo Verde High.

The winner will represent Arizona at the national competition in April.

    This is quite amazing. How on earth did these children learn to the point that they can excel in an Academic Decathlon when the bond issues didn't pass and if you listen to Educrats, there is no money to educate our kids. How could this have happened? Or maybe, there are dedicated children and parents for Mt Veiw and Red Mountain that care about their education.
