EVIT students compete, win scholarships

Five East Valley students have been awarded scholarships following the Careers in Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) competition this spring at the East Valley Institute of Technology’s Mesa campus.

Competing students were challenged to make chicken chasseur and tournés potatoes and crêpes with vanilla pastry cream. All of the EVIT scholarship winners are seniors and include: Higley High School’s Ashley Ludlow of Gilbert, a full scholarship to Johnson & Wales University; McClintock High School’s Rebekah Lung of Tempe, a full associate’s tuition scholarship to the Art Institute of Phoenix; Hamilton High School’s Sasha Ivie of Chandler, a full associate’s tuition scholarship to the Art Institute of Colorado; Corona del Sol High School’s Matt Meiers of Tempe, mystery chef scholarship; and Queen Creek High School’s Rebecca Rasmussen, the Beau MacMillan Scholarship.
