Students entering the sixth grade must now get meningococcal and Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis) vaccinations.

The Maricopa County Department of Public Health is offering free back-to-school vaccines for children and adolescents from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Chandler High School, 350 N. Arizona Ave., and Mesa Immunization Clinic, 423 N. Country Club Drive.

Vaccinations for children will also be available for polio, measles, mumps and rubella, varicella, hepatitis A and B, and haemophilus influenza type B (Hib). Vaccinations for human papillomavirus (HPV) will also be available for adolescents.

Parents should bring all immunization records, including records from other states and countries. Children 17 and younger must be with a parent or guardian. Information: (602) 506-6767 or www.wearepublichealth.org.
