The Pinal County Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants for superintendent of public instruction following the resignation of Jack Harmon, effective at the end of June. His term was to expire at the end of 2008.
The replacement for the rest of Harmon’s term will be selected by a citizens committee, with one member from each of the supervisors’ districts and two at-large members.
The replacement for the superintendent of county schools must hold an Arizona teaching certificate, be a qualified elector and resident of Pinal County. Because Harmon was elected as a Democrat, his replacement also must be a Democrat.
Candidates should send a resume and letter of interest to the Clerk of the Board, P.O. Box 827, Florence, AZ 85232, before 5 p.m. July 13.
