The Higley Unified School District governing board approved the evaluation for Superintendent Denise Birdwell during its meeting Tuesday.
Governing board member Kim Anderson said in a statement: “Dr. Birdwell is a leader for our district. She has pulled us through some really difficult times, and we have come out on top. We are now fifth in the state, and one of the top-performing districts. She is seen as a leader in the state among other superintendents around Arizona.”
She continued with, “We concluded that Dr. Birdwell is an exemplary superintendent, and she is doing an excellent job.”
Higley’s schools are primarily located within the town of Gilbert. It is a growing district, with plans to open two middle schools next school year.

I just read in another article that there is an Executive Director of System Services. I wonder what other "Assistant Superintendent-types" there are that make the Superintendent look good?
