Knox Elementary School will require school uniforms beginning this fall. Chandler Unified School District Governing Board members voted 4-1 in favor of the requirement Wednesday night.
Board member David Evans cast the opposing vote. District spokesman Terry Locke said nearly 70 percent of parents responding to a survey wanted the uniforms.
Students will be required to wear dark blue collared shirts without logos. Boys must wear tan pants, either long or kneelength, and girls must wear tan pants, knee-length shorts, skirts or jumpers.
