The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) will open its 87,000-square-foot east Mesa campus in August. The facility will host an enhanced aviation education program, along with health sciences classes. Students can train for a variety of careers including aircraft flight operations, aircraft maintenance technology, air traffic control, unmanned aircraft systems operations, flight attendant, and airport management.

EVIT will also open its expanded health sciences building on the school's main campus, 1601 W. Main St. The building features a mock ambulance bay, student massage clinics open to the public, additional nursing classrooms, and space to develop new programs in the future to meet industry job trends. EVIT students can earn college credit and train to work as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), medical assistant, massage therapist or surgical technician, among others.

Registration will be 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27-28 at the main campus. During these open houses, prospective students and those currently enrolled are encouraged to visit the campus, complete their back-to-school paperwork, pay class fees and get their free campus parking pass. Campus tours will also be available starting at 8 a.m. each day.

High school students from Apache Junction, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Higley, J.O. Combs, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and Tempe, who meet the enrollment criteria, may attend EVIT tuition-free.
