A 19-year-old man police say was rummaging through a van he broke into in a west Mesa neighborhood was arrested Sunday minutes after the van's owner chased him with a baseball bat.
Ezequiel Chavez was arrested shortly after 5 a.m. when he was identified by the van's owner as one of two people who broke into the van in the 1800 block of East First Place.
After the van's owner approached the two men inside his vehicle, they tried to take the bat away from him, but ended up running off through the neighborhood.
Police located Chavez near Second and Harris streets minutes later, but were unable to find the second suspect. The van's owner and wife identified Chavez who admitted to police that he broke into the van.
The second suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 20s, wearing a green shirt and blue jeans.

Why isn't Dale Whiting commenting on the poor, hardworking illegals being chased by a bat-wielding racist?
Isn't that how the pro-illegal crowd spins these stories?
Poor Dale!

I agree Rational. These two were probably just looking for some gardening gloves to wear when they pick lettuce and tomatoes for us white Americans.
