A 20-year-old woman was robbed a gunpoint at Fiesta Mall after being followed on Loop 202 Monday, Mesa police said.
The woman noticed a vehicle following her on the freeway, police said. She exited at Alma School Road, went to Fiesta Mall, and parked near the top of the Sears parking garage with the vehicle still following.
The suspect’s vehicle parked behind the victim and the suspect exited the passenger side, police said. He knocked on her window and attempted to open the door. The suspect then asked if he could ask her a question, police said.
When she rolled her window down, the suspect put a gun at the victim’s chest and demanded her purse, phone and keys, police said. The victim gave them to the man and he returned to the car, which drove off.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30- to 40-years old, with short brown hair, an unshaved face, around 5’10” tall, of medium build and possible tattoos on both arms, police said. He was wearing a white t-shirt and gray shorts. The suspect’s vehicle is described as gray passenger vehicle with four doors and a sunroof.
The investigation is ongoing.

I'm glad the woman wasn't hurt. Lesson to be learned here... if you are being followed, don't drive into an enclosed parking garage and stop. Drive to a gas station and start honking your horn!

I think it's questionable. Who whould drive to a Mall, park their car and sit in it when they know that someone has followed them off of the highway? Also, who would roll their window down if that same someone came and knocked on their window? She had the choice of putting her foot on the gas petal and leaving and...parking the car and running inside the store to call 911....she did neither. Suspicious......
