Registration open for Gilbert's Citizens Police Academy

There are still open seats in the Gilbert Citizens Police Academy.

The academy will cover a wide range of topics, including the K-9 unit, SWAT Team, police ethics, criminal investigations, drug and gang enforcement, traffic and DUI laws, firearms safety and more.

To register for the class, you must live or work in Gilbert, be 18 or older, have no prior felony arrests and no misdemeanor arrests within the last fiver years.

Classes meet once a week for seven weeks beginning Oct. 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The classes are held at the Gilbert Police Department Public Safety Complex Amphitheater, 75 E. Civic Center Drive.
