Kent Terry, the brother of slain US Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry will be the main speaker during the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Peace Officer’s Memorial Service on Thursday.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the memorial outside the sheriff’s Office, 971 N. Jason Lopez Circle, Florence.

Brian Terry died from his wounds on Dec. 15, 2010, a day after he and his fellow agents with the elite tactical BORTAC team were engaged in gunfire while patrolling Peck Canyon in Pima County. The agents were 11 miles from the Mexican border when suspected illegal immigrants opened fire on them.

Terry’s speech will focus on his brother’s service to his country as a Marine, a local police officer and Border Patrol agent.
