Former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas has opened a law office in Phoenix at the same time that he faces an investigation into his ethical conduct.
The Arizona Capitol Times reports that the former county attorney has bought radio airtime to advertise his practice.
The Arizona Supreme Court's chief justice had ordered an inquiry into Thomas' behavior after another judge ruled Thomas acted unethically in prosecuting a county official. The inquiry was prompted in part by the State Bar of Arizona.
Thomas maintains he was trying to root out public corruption.
Thomas resigned as Maricopa County's top prosecutor in April to run for attorney general and lost the Republican primary to Tom Horne in August.
