A 3-year-old Gold Canyon boy whose father pulled his body out of a family swimming pool earlier this week has died.
The boy was pronounced dead at a local hospital about 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, two days after he was pulled out of the family’s swimming pool in the 17000 block of East Paseo del Canto Street, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
When emergency crews arrived at the home about 5 p.m., the boy’s father was performing CPR on him and told authorities that the boy was out of his sight for about two minutes.
The pool had a safety fence around it, but its gate was open, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office said.
