Mesa police are describing the death of a 27-year-old man as "suspicious."

Police discovered the man’s body inside a residence on Tuesday morning in the 8700 block of East Onza near Eastridge and Guadalupe Road.

About 4:30 a.m., police received a call from a man saying that his roommate had just killed himself, but after officers arrived at the house where the roommate and two women were present, things were not adding up and investigators deemed the death as suspicious, according to Sgt. Anthony Landato, a Mesa police spokesman.

Emergency personnel tried to revive the man, but he died at the scene, Landato said.

The man’s identity was not released, pending notification of relatives.

No one has been arrested in connection to the man’s death, and his cause of death was not released.
