A Mesa tire store was robbed at gunpoint at noon Monday, police said.

At least two men entered the Llantera Tire Business, 19 E. Broadway Road, and started to load unpaid merchandise into a vehicle. Several employees confronted the suspects and were met with a handgun. The robbers then fled southbound on Center.

Police said just a few minutes later one of the stolen rims was sold at Arizona Recycling Corp., 12 W. Southern Ave.

Police are looking for a dark grey Chrysler 300 with a loosely attached license plate in the back.

The suspect with the handgun is described as a bald, Hispanic male, between 25 and 37 years old. He is around 6-feet tall and weighs 280 to 310 pounds. He was wearing a grey or brown T-shirt and grey sweatpants.

The second suspect is described as a bald, 20 to 30-year-old Hispanic male, about 5-feet 7-inches tall, weighing 150 to 180 pounds. He has letter tattoos above and below his left eye.

He was wearing a grey or red T-shirt, blue shorts, with a yellow ASU lanyard hanging from the back pocket and a green lanyard hanging from his neck.
