PHOENIX (AP) — A Mesa mother is in custody for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs with her 1-year-old son in the car.

Authorities say 32-year-old Brianne Marie Bird was arrested Thursday after driving over a sidewalk and colliding with a fenced-in propane tank that didn't explode.

The Arizona Republic (http://bit.ly/QoDAnK) reports that Bird has a prescription for the narcotic pain relief medication Oxycodone.

The prescription instructs Bird to take one pill every four hours as needed. She allegedly took a Zanex pill and three Oxycodone pills on Thursday morning.

Authorities say Bird was taken to a hospital for treatment because of obvious signs of impairment and given a drug to reverse the effects of her medication.

The Republic says Bird also was arrested Wednesday in Tempe and accused of DUI.
