Authorities have identified a Tempe couple hit by a vehicle while pushing their 4-month-old baby in a stroller Wednesday morning.

Jeff Glover with the Tempe Police Department said Daniel and Amy Berarde were crossing the street with their daughter when they were hit near Guadalupe Road and All American Way around 6 a.m.

Glover told ABC15 a green car had stopped to let them cross when a pickup crashed into the car.

Glover said the impact caused one of the vehicles to hit the pedestrians.

The family and the driver of the green car were taken to the hospital.

Glover said the father sustained non-life threatening injuries, the mother is listed in critical condition, and the 4-month-old is listed in serious condition as of Wednesday morning.

The driver of the green car, identified as Ruben Garcia, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Glover said 25-year-old Michael Angel Ontiveros was driving the pickup.

He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Tempe police later booked Ontiveros into Tempe City Jail for an unrelated traffic warrant.

Glover said Ontiveros was not impaired and they are unsure how fast he was going at the time of the crash.

Guadalupe Road was closed for several hours while police investigated.
