All that’s left: Helen Schlie, owner of Rare and Out of Print Book and Art in Mesa, holds a rare page out of the first edition of the Book of Mormon. The book, which is valued at $100,000, was stolen from Schlie’s shop sometime over the Memorial Day weekend. Schlie, who was selling pages out of the 588-page book to help raise money for mission trips for young women and elders from the Church of Jesus christ Latter-day Saints, is hoping someone will return it. Mesa police are investigating the case. [Mike Sakal/Tribune]

"Mesa police were assisted by the FBI’s Art Crime Unit, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, along with numerous other law enforcement agencies."
For a book. An old, expensive book...but still just a book.
Why can't these agencies work together on IMPORTANT crime issues?

I didn't realize works of cult fiction would merit the FBI and US Marshall's office's time. There's no real crime going on anywhere?????????
They must all be Mormons.[wink]
It's defaced, old book, not a work of art.

DTR you make a good point. I don't want my taxes to pay for these agencies to chase down a book that is about as true is a snow white and the seven dwarves.
Religion is BS and should be eradicated.

Book or Mormon, Bible, Koran, Torah, burn them all. The world would be a better place if anytime somebody wanted to reach for a storybook for moral guidance, they just pleasured themselves with masturbation. You see that? I just solved wars!
