Authorities are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about a man who police say is responsible for 13 armed robberies in the Phoenix area in the last three months.

Police say that the man has targeted 11 fast-food restaurants and two nail salons that netted him a combined $5,200. He got an average of about $400 during each robbery.

Police say that between April 17 and as recently as Sunday, the man went into some of the businesses, bought something and then pulled a gun and aimed it an employee after they had opened the register.

In some of the robberies, police say the man lifted his shirt and displayed the gun without actually pulling it out.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-948-6377.

Ah, the good old days in Brooklyn. My best friend's dad had a pistol in his grocery store for protection, after the neighborhood started changing demographics. About a year later, one of the newer "residents" of our community decided it would be great to hold him up. While getting out the cash from the register, he dropped some of it on the floor in front of the counter. When the thug bent down to pick it up (he did have a gun as well) my friend's dad took his pistol out and blew the crook's head off. The Irish cops came in and actually congratulated him on shooting so well. The coroner hauled off the crook and no more was heard about it. We had very few armed robberies, rapes, or assaults in old Brownsville. Between the mafia (Murder, Inc was housed there), the Irish police, and the Jewish vigilantes, the bad guys knew darn well what was in store for them if they did bad things.
