The Mesa police bomb squad responded to a report of a suspicious device that turned out to only be a flashlight.

A homeowner in the 700 block of W. Peralta called police Saturday morning after seeing the object and thinking it might be linked to other flashlight bombs reported in the Valley. Bomb technicians investigated and found the object was a yellow flashlight.
