A man Mesa police believe was driving under the influence of a drug was trapped in his vehicle about 11:30 p.m. Thursday after striking a streetlight.

Police said the man, identified as Ronald T. Flood, 52, drove into a streetlight at Power Road and Superstition Springs Boulevard. The pole broke onto the road.
