A teenager has been arrested for allegedly pointing a laser at a Phoenix police helicopter, partly blinding a pilot.
Police say a 14-year-old boy is in custody in one incident and officers were looking for a suspect in a second incident.
Police say two officers were on air patrol in north Phoenix about 1 a.m. Monday when their helicopter was hit with a green laser from below.
The light from the laser blurred the vision of the pilot, who was forced to land at a nearby elementary school.
About 8 p.m. Tuesday, two officers were assisting with a felony search in a helicopter in west Phoenix when they were hit with a red laser from the ground.
Officers on the ground were able to find the teen suspect, who admitted to knowingly pointing the laser at a police helicopter. He was taken to the Juvenile Correction Center and may face charges of aggravated assault.
