Police said a charred body has been discovered inside a burning car next to a Chandler High School.
Chandler Police Detective Seth Tyler said that body was found around 4 a.m. Saturday morning near Arizona Avenue and Erie Street after police and firefighters arrived to put out the car fire.

Tyler said investigators believe the driver of the car was involved in a single vehicle collision where the driver was unable to control the car. Police said they are still trying to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
Tyler said police do not suspect foul play. Police identified the driver is an adult male. They are waiting to identify the man until his next of kin is notified.
Tyler said the investigation is not affecting any activities at the school.

I have a problem with our LOCAL NEWS OUTLET using Associated Press reporting this rather than have an actual TRIBUNE "reporter" WRITING a news item on this. This is right next to the Sr. Parking LOT at CHANDLER High School. I have to read about this on the only outlet in a population of 4 million, AZFamily, that is reporting this. This is an example of what is WRONG with the LOCAL news media.

Gee, "chick," you don't come off as a nut job or anything . I'm more concerned about the lack of standards when it comes to the composition of the stories printed here than I am about their source. Sometimes simple proofreading by a second person would catch the errors. For example, why do we see the phrase, "Chandler Police Detective Seth Tyler" in two successive sentences? And later it's reported that, "They are waiting to identify the man until his next of kin is notified" when, in fact, the man had already been identified. Instead, they are waiting until the man's next of kin is notified before releasing his name. Simple, third-grade-level things such as these reflect far more about the quality of a news publication than how or where it sources its content.
