As part of National Fire Prevention Week, the Tempe Fire Department will host a safety fair on Oct. 13.
The event will include fire extinguisher training, CPR demonstrations, free booster seats for qualified participants, ambulance and fire truck tours and a vehicle extrication demonstration at the Tempe Fire Training Facility, 1340 E. University Drive.
“The purpose of the event is for residents to learn about lifesaving skills like CCR, compression only CPR, and how to properly use a fire extinguisher,” John Valenzuela, Tempe assistant chief for fire prevention and public education, said in a news release. “It’s also an opportunity for Tempe residents to meet the firefighters and other Tempe Fire staff while learning more about what the fire department does within the community.”
The 2012 theme for Fire Prevention Week is “Have Two Ways Out.” For more information, visit www.tempe.gov/fire online.
Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 7-13.
