A Quick N’Clean car wash employee was sprayed in the face with mace Saturday after a man knocked on the office door moments before stealing money from the business.

Police responded to the crime at 243 N. Power Road, Mesa about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday after the car wash employee reported that he was in the office when someone knocked on the door. When he opened it, he said, he was sprayed in the face, and the robber continued to spray him as he grabbed the money and ran toward a QT convenience store, according to police.

When police arrived they were unable to locate the robber.
