A man who Mesa police say pointed an AR-15 rifle at two people during a disturbance at an apartment complex, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault after a brief stand-off on Saturday.
Jeff Hintz, who told police he was drinking alcohol all day (police said appeared to be highly intoxicated), is facing two counts of aggravated assault in connection to the incident, according to Mesa police.
Shortly after 10 p.m., police responded to a report of Hintz making threatening statements and pointing the gun at the two victims in the 700 block of North Country Club. After police arrived at the apartment, they ordered Hintz to put the gun down, but he did not. When he went back inside his apartment, one of the officers fired a “beanbag” round of pellets at him.
After Hintz got back inside his apartment, he called 911 to report that he had been shot at moments before exiting his apartment without the rifle, police said.
Police later recovered the rifle from a closet inside the apartment and removed a 30-round magazine from it.
Hintz denied pointing the gun at anyone, police said.

Nice pic...looks like an already dim bulb coupled with the fog of having killed a 30 pack that day.

Here is an idea. Don't buy the AK 47 and you won't have to live in an apartment on Country Club. Likely would keep you out of the police blotter to boot. Priorities-
Just saying.
