Ummm, there was a reason people took donkeys when they went into the mountains in the olden days.
If you don't have a lot of gear and supplies you are likely to not survive the experience.
I think it would be a good idea to have park rangers stationed at all the spots where people start hiking into the mountains to make sure they have adequate gear.
And NO ONE should be allowed to go alone.
