A motorcyclist and his passenger were seriously injured after colliding with a Hyundai at the corner of Higley Road and Broadway on Sunday.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 54-year-old man, suffered a broken leg and his passenger, a 53-year-old woman, suffered serious head trauma and is listed in critical condition at a local hospital, according to Mesa police.
The car, which was driven by a 59-year-old woman, was stopped facing west at the private drive exit of a commercial lot on the southeast corner of Higley Road and Broadway about 4:45 p.m., and after turning south onto Higley, the motorcycle struck the car.
Neither person on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet, police said.
