Chandler police are investigating a robbery at Ace Check Cashing, 777 N. Arizona Ave., where the suspects entered through the roof and then dropped through the ceiling into the business.

According to a police news release, the robbery happened just before 9 a.m. Wednesday. The suspects dropped through the ceiling after the first employee entered the building, and then assaulted and handcuffed the female employee before stealing money from the safe and cash drawers, police said.

Police were dispatched to the business by a silent robbery alarm.

A witness told police she had seen two males dressed in black running from the front of the business toward the alley behind the business, shortly after the robbery.

According to the release, investigators believe these suspects also committed a similar robbery in Phoenix, with both crimes occurring within 24 hours.

Anyone with information about this case can call Chandler Police Department at (480) 782-4130.
