The eastbound lanes of the Loop 202 in Gilbert are reopen following a deadly crash involving an Arizona Department of Public Safety employee.
Raul Garcia, a spokesman for DPS, said one person died and two people were airlifted to area hospitals, after a pickup truck and a DPS service vehicle were involved in a crash at Loop 202 San Tan and Gilbert Road Friday morning.

Officer Carrick Cook, spokesman DPS, said the service driver is "alert and talking" at a Scottsdale hospital.
The 35-year-old driver of the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. A passenger in the pickup truck died at the scene.
Cook said the driver of the pickup truck allegedly swerved traveling eastbound along the freeway when he struck the service vehicle, which was parked on the shoulder.
Authorities did not release the identities of the deceased or those involved in the crash. Investigators have not ruled out impairment as a factor in the crash.
Air15 video showed medical crews carrying one person on a stretcher to a medical helicopter. Two helicopters were seen parked on the closed freeway, as well as several ambulances and emergency personnel.
The accident closed eastbound Loop 202 at Gilbert Road from about 8 a.m. to around 3 p.m.
