A Gilbert woman was the victim of an attempted sexual assault Sunday when an intruder entered her home by forcing entry through a door.
The assault was reported to police about 8:30 p.m. The victim was home alone in the 2000 block of East San Tan Court when the suspect broke into the home and attempted to assault her while she was sleeping.
The woman awoke, fought back and was able to stop the attack. The suspect fled.

Gilbert police are urging residents to be aware of suspicious behavior near their homes and workplace, and to alert police if they see anything unusual. You should also lock your doors and windows, and if you have a home security system, set it when you're home for the evening.

Too bad she didn't have a yet to be banned assualt rifle to take care of the assailant. That is truly the only way to ensure he will not do it again and be successful next time.
