Three 15-year-old boys who police say broke into Mesa’s Webster Basic School stole some office supplies and candy, but what they got after that wasn’t so sweet.
After police responded to a burglary alarm at the school, 7301 E. Baseline Road, they noticed three boys running across school grounds, through the yard of a residence and onto a golf course. When police deployed an air unit, two of the boys surrendered to authorities. Police searched the school building, discovering that two classrooms had been ransacked, some candy and office supplies were stolen and a computer monitor was destroyed.
The third suspect was identified and caught about an hour later, police said.
Two of the boys police caught were arrested on suspicion of burglary and all three of them were arrested on suspicion on trespassing and violating curfew.
