Police have named the victim shot and killed in front of a Gilbert home Thursday night.

Police found Winston Lewis, 46, shot outside of a home near Greenfield and Guadalupe roads around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, said Sgt. Jesse Sanger, a Gilbert Police spokesman. The shooting occurred in the street in front of the home.

Lewis was pronounced dead shortly after police arrived on the scene, said Lt. John Lyle, a Gilbert police spokesman.

While police are questioning a number of individuals who may have been involved in the incident, one man, Brandon Shriner, 27, was taken into custody at the scene, Sanger said.

Shriner has sporadically lived at the residence, but was not currently living there at the time of the shooting, he said.

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is still ongoing, Sanger said. Police do not have a motive for the shooting at this time.
