If you’ve been called by someone claiming you have an outstanding arrest warrant because of an unpaid ticket or failure to appear for jury duty, it’s likely a phone scam, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

MCSO says they do not ask for money for unpaid tickets or failure to appear for jury duty. The scam caller says he’s a MCSO deputy and will arrest you if you don’t get a “Green Dot Money Pack” and give the fake deputy an access code, MCSO says.

If you receive one of these calls, MCSO advises you to hang up right away and call MCSO at 602-876-1011.
