A 28-year-old Gilbert woman died Friday after she was struck by an SUV while driving a motorcycle in Gilbert.

The woman, Jenavieve Phillips, was traveling north on Park Village Drive at Rock Street about 5:30 p.m. when a Toyota 4-runner turned south into her path, according to Gilbert police. The driver of the SUV was a 16-year-old, police said.

Phillips was transported to a Scottsdale hospital where she died.

The accident is still under investigation. Alcohol and drugs have been ruled out in the case.

This is the primary reason that 16 year old should not be driving....Is he not supposed to have an over 21 driver with him?........16 year olds should only be allowed to drive a bicycle or use a skateboard.....He needs to be treated like an adult and charged with Manslaughter........it was his fault
