Police say a husband and wife have been found shot to death in the bedroom of the Phoenix home.

A handgun was found near the bodies but police are not saying yet who they believe fired the fatal shots.

Police say the couple's 21-year-old son was watching television in another room of the house when he heard gunshots early Sunday.

Mario Corona Jr. went into the bedroom and says he found his mother and father -- 52-year-old Mario Corona Sr. and 44-year-old Patricia Corona -- lying on the bed with gunshot wounds to the head.

Phoenix Fire Department paramedics pronounced the elder Corona dead at the home, while the mother was taken to a Phoenix hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
