CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Two pilots escaped injury after their small planes flipped over during landings at airports in Chandler and Mesa.
Federal Aviation Administration officials say a single-engine Piper Super Cub nosed over after encountering a gust of wind about 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chandler Airport. They say the pilot was the only person on board and got out of the aircraft without help.
FAA officials say single-engine Cessna 172 flipped over after landing at Mesa's Falcon Field about 3 p.m. Wednesday. The pilot was the only person on board and got out safely.
The names of the two pilots haven't been released.
Airport officials say both planes sustained some damage.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incidents.
