PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Department of Transportation has opened a 12-mile stretch of the westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway HOV lane between Gilbert Road and Interstate 10 in Chandler.

The new stretch includes direct HOV-lane ramps between westbound Loop 202 and the northbound Loop 101 Price Freeway carpool lane as well as the westbound I-10 HOV lane.

The remaining eastbound HOV lane on Loop 202 and direct ramps to the Loop 101 and I-10 are scheduled to open when the project is complete on Oct. 9.

My drive from 202/San Tan Village to the I10/Broadway was such an enjoyable ride in this morning. Thank you ADOT!! Can't wait for the east bound lanes to open!!

Good job, now remember don't rush. Since we've run out of storage, you may not move any equipment until the next job is underway, as we cannot store any of it. Also, make sure that the next job takes at least a year, or we'll be out of work like everyone else.
