The remains of the Elevation Chandler building might fall, but the name will live on through a different project set to open next year.

Located at Pecos and Dobson roads, Vedura Residential managing director Bruce Hart said the new Elevation Chandler will feature 163 luxury multifamily units for rent. The project, which cost $20 million, is under construction now and will open its clubhouse and a few units in April 2014, and Hart said the company will finish the project by August 2014.

Hart said Vedura Residential decided to repurpose the Elevation Chandler name to match the names of its other two projects — Elevation Flagstaff and Elevation Central, which is located in Phoenix. Plus, he said the public isn’t familiar with the actual name of the failed project located across from the Chandler Fashion Center.

“That thing is getting torn down, and that thing is going away and won’t be remembered,” he said.
