Authorities are investigating after a man was shot at a Chandler convenience store Wednesday night.

Chandler police spokesman Joseph Favazzo said the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at a 7-Eleven near Warner and Dobson Roads.

Favazzo said two customers inside the store got into a verbal argument. Police said the fight turned physical when the two began pushing each other.

Authorities said one of the men pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the other customer. That customer then pulled out a firearm of his own. The first man fired one shot striking the second man in the face.

The shooter then left the store and shortly thereafter turned himself into police.

The man who was shot was taken to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound. His current condition is unknown at this time.

Favazzo said the investigation is ongoing at this time.
