Chandler is making up to $5,000 in grants available to each neighborhood group that applies for financial assistance to help fund neighborhood improvement projects.

The city has a total of $34,400 in grants available through its Neighborhood Programs Office. Neighborhoods are eligible to receive the grants once every five years.

Homeowners associations can receive a similar amount but must match the city's funds with HOA dollars.

Eligible projects can include neighborhood entrance beautification, enhanced landscaping, painting, safety improvements, and neighborhood education such as leadership and mediation training.

Information: Judy Ramos, neighborhood programs coordinator, (480) 782-4348.
