Police department hosts Shred-A-Thon

The Chandler Police Department in conjunction with Mid-First bank and the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired Inc. is hosting a document Shred-A-Thon Thursday, Jan. 5 at a branch of Mid-First Bank to benefit the Special Olympics.

The Shred-A-Thon, which will take place at 4900 S. Gilbert Road, will last from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A patrol team assigned to the department’s Chandler Heights Substation will be on hand to help coordinate the event and to meet residents. The officers will also provide information concerning ways to protect yourself from identity theft.

A monetary donation of any size is required to participate in the event. Change will be placed into Mid-First Bank’s coin van, and the bank will match donations up to $1,000 to go toward Special Olympics.
