An orientation session for people interested in buying a foreclosed home through a Chandler land trust is slated for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, at Hartford Elementary School, 700 N. Hartford St.
The City Council recently approved an agreement with the nonprofit NewTown Community Land Trust to buy up foreclosed homes in a portion of the 85225 ZIP code, where foreclosures approach 40 percent of existing homes.
The land trust would retain title to the land, allowing potential homebuyers to purchase the houses at affordable prices.
