Author Tim Wise will present "Colorblind: The Rise of Post-Racial Politics and the Retreat from Racial Equity" from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., Oct. 6 at the Chandler-Gilbert Community College Performing Center. The event is free.

Wise, a prominent anti-racist writer and educator, was recently named one of "25 Visionaries Who are Changing Your World" by Utne Reader, according to a news release. He has authored five books; his newest, "Dear White America: Letter to a New Minority" will be published next year. Wise is a regular contributor to discussions about race on CNN, and has been featured on ABC's 20/20.
