The Downtown Chandler Community Foundation awarded ICAN (Improving Chandler Area Neighborhoods) a $2,000 grant to maintain and develop research-based drug and gang prevention programs.
ICAN is an awarding-winning program that aims to educate youth and prevent substance abuse, violence, and other forms of juvenile delinquency. A partnership with the Chandler Police Department gives ICAN the opportunity to do ride-alongs and recruit at-risk youth into the programs.
ICAN works with more than 1,000 youth and their families through after-school programs and parenting support.
