Experience a world chess championship amid the Cold War struggle between the United States and Russia as the performing arts department at Chandler-Gilbert Community college presents the musical "Chess."
The production will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 1-3 and also at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Arnette Scott Ward Performing Arts Center at the Pecos campus, 2626 E. Pecos Road.
"Chess" revolves around two top players - an American and a Russian - and their romantic triangle with a woman who is the "second" player to the American but becomes the love interest of the Russian. The story takes place at a time when personal lives were used by governments for "the greater good," according to a news release.
