Kay Bigelow is Chandler’s new City Attorney.
The City Council approved Bigelow’s contract at its Jan. 23 meeting.
Bigelow was an assistant city attorney with Chandler since May 2012 and served as interim city attorney since July, when the city chose not to continue contract negotiations with Mary Wade.
Bigelow has a broad range of municipal and private law experience, including partner at Gammage & Burnham, PLC. She also served as city attorney in Casa Grande, city prosecutor for the Scottsdale City Attorney’s Office and deputy county attorney in the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
She is a member of the Arizona Bar Association, Arizona Federal District Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Bigelow’s annual salary will be $165,649.
Mesa Deputy City Attorney Alfred Smith was the other finalist.
