Teacher Rhonda Duering and assistant principal Joe Greene from Chandler Unified School District’s Perry High School visited Washington D.C. this week last week to take part in the Teachers for Global Classrooms Program’s (TGC) Global Education Symposium, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). Through the program, teachers learn how to advance their schools’ global education practices, internationalizing teaching and learning in their classrooms.

This spring and summer the U.S. teachers will learn with, and from, their colleagues in other countries to develop international knowledge and skills. The U.S. teachers will participate in a two-to-three week professional experience in Brazil, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, or Ukraine. Perry High’s Duering will travel to Kazakhstan.
