A public viewing for the Chandler police officer who died
Wednesday will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Chandler Center for the Arts,
250 N. Arizona Ave.
Memorial services for Carlos Ledesma will be 10 a.m. Wednesday
at Mission Community Church, 4450 E. Elliot Road, Gilbert. He will
then be buried at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10940 E. Chandler
Heights Road, Chandler.
Ledesma, 34, is survived by a wife and two children. He died
Wednesday when a shootout erupted during an undercover operation in
south Phoenix. Six suspects ranging in age from 25 to 40 each face
three counts of first-degree murder charges and numerous aggravated
assault and drug-related charges. Five are in a Maricopa County
jail and one remains hospitalized with non-life threatening wounds,
according to Phoenix police.
